"Why has everyone started to make the Harlem shake popular?"

The man stretched for a moment, the segments of his armor making a slight scraping noise as they rubbed against one another.

Garrett sat cross legged on a flat rock. His chin rested in the palm of his hand.

"Things seem to have slowed down considerably." The man said with dis-contempt. Pressing his hand to his chestplate the armor melted away, leaving behind only his pauldron. "Much better."

"Just yourself or everything?" He guessed the answer could have been both, and prepared for some more listening.

The man laughed for a moment before shaking his head. "I don't think I can slow down. Every time I try to stop I just feel more driven. I haven't seen as many people as when I first returned. One can only hope that they are simply training."

"Maybe. Sometimes they do it in their sleep. Why, once I dreamed that I was driving a car and my intestines got caught on the wheel since my stomach had been cut open and started to unravel as they got pulled out of my stomach. Now I know to never get behind the wheel with a stomach that is cut open. I think you were there too. In the passenger's seat."

The man laid down on the damp grass, strands of hair blowing in the wind. "It really makes you think, when you look back and realize how long some of us have been here. This was home for a lot of us. A place for us to escape the pain that life dealt us. I suppose many of them outgrew this place, like a child outgrows his imaginary friend. We stay behind, forgotten but not spiteful, because one day new people will come to our home seeking the same guidance and sense of belonging that we once did. I can honestly say without a doubt that even though we all may depart from these lands, it will remain."

"That's really insightful. I didn't expect to hear something like that from you. Maybe some of them are lost and trying to find it. The majority has probably moved on. They might come back if they were convinced." He folded his hands in his lap. "The place will last forever. That's fact.. As for new faces, there're plenty of people that might be looking for a place like this."

The man simply laughed for a moment before closing his eyes. "My dear apprentice when you've been here as long as I have you start to wonder why it is that you keep coming back. For some it's to escape boredom, for others it's to escape torment, while for me and a few others it was something more. A way to have some kind of power during times where we were most vulnerable. While now I am not subjected to such vulnerabilities due to my own growth from puberty I still find myself coming back. Which quite honestly perplexes me because I cannot help but wonder if by relying on WAR to protect me as a child I have in fact created my own purgatory. However these musings are but mere thoughts that pop into my head at random intervals, often fleeting at the first sign of a fight." Shade propped himself up on his elbows as he gazed across the lake. "We should begin your training soon. You've become quite the fighter in my absence. "

"For myself.. I can come up with a few reasons why I stuck to it when I had come across it in the first place. So training then. What did you have in mind?"

The man stood up for a moment. "Utilize that reason, make it your motivation to do better." Shade turned towards Garrett, sliding his left foot out slightly; the sound of dirt sliding underneath his boot could be heard. He stepped forward, his image flickering out in seconds. In the instant that his image had faded the man had appeared in front of the boy, a large gust of wind trailing behind him from the speed of his movements; the wind howling as it tore it's way across the land. Shade wrapped his fingers around the hilt of his sword, unsheathing it quickly and slashing it in an upwards diagonal motion.

"Fighting you it is." Garrett dropped back into a crab walking stance to get out of the sword's way. He brought his legs up in a swing and pushed off with his elbows for more power. His feet were sent at his opponent's torso in an attempt of a knockback effect.

Shade raised the sword with both hands, holding it vertically in front of his chest with the edge of the blade towards Garrett's feet. His eyes began to glow a bright red as a spiral of flames began to engulf the length of the blade, creating a miniature inferno.

His feet spread apart to avoid the blade of the sword. Whether or not his feet actually made contact this time, he'd retract his legs and roll backwards and onto them, standing up."Tired School Sleep Continue Tomorrow Goodnight."

Fouling the land? Kain laughed, the sound touched his ears as darker than he may have intended. That was one way to put it. But no matter how foul he might make it he was a hero none the less. Light flashed up among the trees off to his left, and he came for it in answer. "Humanity this time." His sight was flared with specks from the light ahead, but he faced it with only the crinkling of his eyes to show something bothered them.

Nathan sat in the middle of the field with his eyes closed, the area around him nearly destroyed. He hummed quietly to himself as a smile remained upon his face.

(OOC: I apologize for the fact that I seemed to have disappeared for a bit. I'm sure you understand. Real life gets to us in the worst of times.)
The young man stared inquisitively at the few men before him, and tilted his head. Listening to the gentle musings, he kicked over his tower of cards. Perhaps this is why he was brought here: as an escape from life.

A one armed male holding a sheathed katana in his only hand walked up with a fluffy black boa around his shoulders, his pristine white military uniform signifying some sort of general power and rank as he strolled up into some clearings that looked recently wrecked.

Nathan opened his eyes as he heard something or someone walking towards him. He turned his head to the right looking out of the corner of his eye, his humming slowing down before coming to an entire halt.
