As Mercy slashed through the army, within the blood a green liquid would flow, the fallen bodies would begin dissolving around Mercy as nothing remained but acid were it to make contact with her the effects could be deadly. The remains of the army would continue to fall only to do the same as had previously been shown.
Meanwhile back at the northern city the army standing by watching Deandra and Tidus fight would spread out into 3 groups, each group with six members in it. They would continue Tidus's work of destroying the barrier, two would hold out their hands as beams slammed into the ground, significantly weaker than Tidus's, but effective none the less. The other four would stand guard, without knowing exactly where they were hidden some areas would clearly be a guess as they narrowed down the possibilities of the hidden projectors.

Mercy looked at the acid as she slit a line on each ankle and stood blood shot out creating stilts that began to get eaten by the acid pool. Causing her to lower toward the ground until she was about through the army and away from the acid pools she jumps the last bit and steps in the acid and immediately kicks of her boots sitting on the ground examining her feet. "Never again, going to sit amongst an army."

Deandra's face was curled in a scowl as Tidus's blade just barely skimmed across her back before she had the chance to turn around. The woman spun right around, swing her bladed right arm to clash against Tidus's weapon. The woman would lunge her left arm forward, in an attempt to stab Tidus's stomach.
The barrier only continued to flicker.

He reached up and covered his mouth as he cleared all the remaining dust out of his throat by coughing. Garrett's train of thought was all over the place. "If you're looking for her, then I think we're going to the same place. It'd be a lot safer if we went together, a buddy system." He noticed Mercy's disappearance. He would've asked her first, since he knew her better and barely knew this other person at all. Mercy was long gone, and so he would have to cope. He left the room, considering Apaichi's invitiation. As the castle doors closed behind him he looked up at the incredible tree which stood as tall as the guardians might've been proud of their guild. He continued walking, but glanced back to see if he was followed.

Tidus would jump back bringing his stomach in as the arm managed to pierce the skin slightly. He brought his left hand up as a stream of acid shot out towards Deandra. "Why is this city so precious to you?"

Mercy stood wiping her face to clear away the remaining blood giving her lips a healthy red color she usually lacks. The woman walked back to the guild walking around bare foot her arms swaying lightly as she looked around she needed to find some non acidic boots.

A good question, really. For her the answer was simple though, it was all apart of ultimate goal. To surpass her creator and the guardians past. To rule the land and protect it...but why? Was that really the reason she protected the city so wholeheartedly? Deandra charged forth, continuing her assault with rapid slashes. The stream of acid would peel across the woman's neck as she tried to avoid it. The acid would eat through the thin black material around her neck, just barely protecting her skin beneath. The dark matter would never reclaim the parts of it that were eaten by the acid. Deandra controlled the substance, but her mind was focused elsewhere, like getting rid the virus trying to destroy her city. Vash would nod her head and agree to follow Garrett, despite her wariness of the man. The "buddy system" a phrase that made her silently chuckle as memories fluttered through her mind. The woman would follow Garrett out of the castle and on the trail for the famed "City of Light".

Tidus would bring his left blade into Deandras onslaught of slashes before finally doing something that wouldn't be expected, he brought his hands hand up the grab the blade that was slashing around rapidly, he winced as the blade cut into his hand before clamping down on the blade. Acid would begin pouring from the hand that held the blade, while he brought his left sword towards Deandra's right side.

The blade would cut into Deandra's side, eating through the protective black material and piercing into her. The woman's eyes would widen in pain as her blood started to spray out. Her mouth was open in pain but she didn't make a sound, her mind unable to comprehend what happened. Behind the fighters, the city of Light's barrier would vanish, its defenses down.
However in the city's subways underneath, escape pods filled with citizens would be evacuating the city at high speeds. They would spread out to the other remaining cities, trying to save as many people as quickly possible

Tidus chuckled lightly before he released a loud laughter. "Your city has fallen, your little tactic may work for now but as we speak I have three armies attacking three of the other cities. It's a shame...you are the only one who seems to want to fight for this land perhaps everyone else has seen how worthless it is to fight for this land."
A bright light shot down slamming into one of the three groups that destroyed the barrier before the light quickly destroyed the other two groups. The light shot up next to Deandra as Apaichi stepped out with a blade in his right hand. "In a sense you may be right...most have died while others....have fled. But even so if we were to run away those who sacrificed everything to protect this land all that they did would be in vain. Light from Apaichi began to fade away before covering Deandra closing her wound leaving a scar. Apaichi looked over at her with a slight smile upon his lips. "Kill him."

Deandra was more confused then anything. In a state of shock. Her greatest fear had come true. She wasn't fit to be a guardian. The woman, just about to give hope, found herself momentarily blinded. Apaichi had arrived, making quick work of Tidus's acidic minions. "Aah..." Deandra stared at Tidus as Apaichi gave his speech. When it came to it's end and the order was given, Deandra was hesitant. Even though she was ready to kill Tidus not less then ten minutes ago, something had changed. Perhaps it was the odd smirk on Apaichi's face that through her off. "Ugh..." She grunted before her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Deandra would instead pass out. Her body crashed backwards, falling limply onto the ground.

Apaichi growled as he saw Deandra pass out his eyes drifted to Tidus as Tidus simply smirked at him. "Checkmate." Apaichi grabbed Deandra and vanished form the area, his image reforming back in the guilds living room lying Deandra down on the couch.

Minutes or hours, Shin could not be sure how long ago he had been surrounded. Wave after wave wore at him, though he did not tire like a human, and slowly he had begun to lose space. With each body sent limply to the concrete more acidic blood took precious room from him. Shuffling back again, Shin rolled his right shoulder. The thick tear in the clothing along the back of his ribs pulled taut against his torn skin and then loosened once more as he stopped. His face was grim, but was not marked with pain. It was not that he was not hurting. If his concentration broke for a moment for even pain he might not recover from the recoil. This could not go on for any longer. Removing a thick, balding man from his blade Shin danced back, relieving himself of what little spare ground he had left. It would have been taken from him soon enough if this continued, and he needed to be heard. "We are leaving. Now." [/size]

The woman continued to fight back at the crowd, a worn expression clearly visible upon her face, she took another step back as Shin spoke to her. She nodded before speaking. "I agree."

The woman took a deep breath before looking back at Shin. "Here we go!" With that she brought her blade across a group infront of her in a slash before reaching out with her free hand grabbing a swords from one of the falling enemies, and bring it in a jab towards another ones stomach, as it went in she pushed forward, the acid quickly attacking her boots, she didnt waste anytime in breaking out of the group and quickly removing her boots. She dropped the blades and ran a distance from those who remained hoping Shin had followed.

Nearly placed back to back with the strange woman, Shin gave a exasperated sigh. How would they get out with their skin? Warily he examined the crowd in front of him. They weren't so coordinated; a mob more than an army with little planning or organization, but the numbers had been overwhelming to even before he joined in. It looked like there were more rather than less, despite the number of them sprawled on the floor. Mob or army, there were to many to blindly charge unless you wanted a sword in your gut when their ranks folded back in on you. He did not like that plan one bit. Glancing up, Shin grimaced. He could leave via the skies hopefully no worse for his troubles, but how would the woman get out? Desperation might cause the group to close in on him as he left, and outright overwhelm her in bodies. Unless he could distract them, he didn't see a way for her. This wasn't going to be fun.
Time was short, even now while Shin's mind raced. He moved as the woman shouted, launching headfirst into the crowd opposite her. He had to distract them, pull them from her side to his. He crashed into the wall of bodies, sword arm an extension of himself, flowing from form to form in the carnage. He felt distant, like he was watching someone else fight. His sword was cold death, detached and emotionless flowing through the forms as if it were a training session. Splashes of blood washed over him, burned him like fire. Amongst the cloud of men around him, Shin could spy that odd colored hair breaking away from him, and then it was gone behind the lines of people. His body ached with injury, but it was a distant thing, too. Somewhere in the brawl he had lost most of his shirt. It lay somewhere, dissolving in the acid that had covered it.
This was enough, wasn't it? His weapon swept around him, removing any who were not quick enough to withdraw. Again he looked skyward in the moment he had. His eyes closed even as one of them charged, and his body lit in a sudden flash of light. As if being contained suddenly, the light dimmed and condensed into a ball nearly the size of a lynx. What was left of the man stumbled back, the majority of his body above the stomach ending in a stump that fell limply. The ball shot up just above the rooftops, moving after than a man on horse. For a moment it was there, and then it was gone, in the same direction as the woman. It left, and the city burned..

With a small pop Lazarus apparated in the midst of a forest at the base of a mountain, he tapped his wand to his suit which then changed into robes. With a flick of a wand a medium sized black chair appeared on the ground before him. Lazarus sat and placed his pack in his lap opening it. Exhausted from the days work he lacked the mental capacity think clearly and resorted to muttering his incantation "Accio portrait" in an instant a folded piece of paper whizzed out of his pack and into his hand. Unfolding it he tapped his wand on it, "Wakey wakey" he said to the slightly snoring slender man in the frame. "Ugh what do you want at this hour?" complained the portrait "Now now, Edward you know I'd be lost without you at times, now does this appear as the right place?" Laz said turning the picture around and slowly spinning 360°. "Yes, if I recall correctly the cave you are looking for should be at the bottom of that mountain. Now go stumble on a trap curse and die." Eddie said and walked out his picture grey hair waiving behind him. Bloody ungrateful that's what he is Lazarus thought to himself with a sigh and he stood and slung his pack over his shoulder. Thats the last time I save anyone's portrait from a fire ever he tapped his wand lightly against the chair and it vanished immediately. Being packed up Laz began walking in the direction he was informed, soon he came upon a giant boulder at the foot of the mountain. Well this must be it Laz thought with a gentle flick of his wand he mumbled "Expulso" and the rock shattered and a piece came flying at Lazarus, in a split second he shouted "Protego!" And erected a barrier around himself until the dust cleared. From within his pack he could hear the man in the portrait cackling with laughter. He stepped forth into the cave and whispered "Specialis revelio" and when no sign of traps appeared he continued walking using the lumos charm to create light from his wand. Suddenly a cold grievous sensation surrounded Lazarus, he turned around to see five dementors coming towards him. "EXPECTO PATRONUM" he shouted at the top of his lungs and a silver dolphin erupted from the tip of his wand and struck the closest on in the chest causing it to dissolve immediately and then chased the four others out of the cave. As the dementors flee'd the cave upon exiting candles lining the walls burst into life and an ominous growl could be heard from the far reaches of the cave. "No no no" Laz said in exasperation as a basilisk stepped into light, "STUPEFY" shouted Lazarus as a red light burst from his wand and caught the basilisk in the face temporarily paralyzing it. "Fuck fuck fuck, accio sword." With a flick of his wand his goblin forged blade came from his pack and into his free hand. Lazarus had just managed to pocket his wand as the spell wore off and the basilisk charged at him lunging to bite his torso, Laz pulled his sword up catching the tooth of the basilisk on edge and shattering the giant fang. The basilisk roared in pain and rage (still unfinished)

The full moon shined brightly upon the land, or atleast what was left of it. It had been only 2 months since the warriors of the land had left it. The one known as Tidus along with his army had destroyed most of the cities. Even the Northern city had fallen, all of the civilians who had managed to live were now slaves as the land recognized their new king, many brave fighters had attempted to fight back but were simply killed by his army. The land is now in shambles, cities turned into rubble the southern city now a kingdom for Tidus, the land is at it's darkest point can anyone stop his rule?
Meanwhile in a no so distant land from War. "I said I want more rum!" Exclaimed a man sitting in a local tavern. He slammed his mug down onto the wooden bar before falling off of it backwards.
"And I said you have had enough!" Bart if you will please show our friend here the door." The rather large man reached down to grab the man gripping onto his left arm. The mans eyes snapped open immediately becoming angered he pulled his left arm to him pulling the man towards him, he brought his right hand forward slamming his fist into the man, the man was then sent across the room. The man then stood up dusting himself off."I will see myself out thank you, my name is Eric by the way." Eric turned and made his way out of the tavern stepping out into the night as he swayed from side to side feeling a slightly drunken. He turned to his right looking around. "Where to next?"

A shallow river running through a small town babbled, the constant sound cutting through the silence of the night. It flowed alongside the market, and past rows of homes belonging to well-being merchants. Thin boats of wood dipped and bobbed, and would be pulled away by even the weak currents of the river, if not for the inch-thick ropes leashing them to piers. Built by good river water, even a town like this lived a good life. Lounging in a curving and carved chair of birch, Dalon inhaled the perfumes of the water and crisp night air. He laced his hands, carefully; as to not tug or pinch his skin between the many rings he wore, and sighed. His voice was fit for too-sweet honey with all it's hubris. Dalon was plump, some might even say fat, with his body filling the large comfortable chair outside his home quite well. His attire was nothing to unusual for the stargazing he was indulging on. Robes of red with fine black trim billowed out from the bottom of his chair. Multiple necklaces with colorful gemstones flashed from beyond the opening in his robe. Dalon gazed at the sky, naming off all the stars. Every one of them would be his one day, as would be everything else in this universe. Through wealth and power, Kalon knew he would gain only more wealth and power. He was not fool enough to believe it would be easy, however. Unlacing his hands, Dalon slowly raised one towards the moon, his lips mouthing silently, "One step at a time..". Large fingers closing into a ball, Dalon's smile was almost pleasant, but there was a sour tinge. How long would it take? He had asked himself this many times. Would he be on his deathbed when he finally owned everything? No! Shivering suddenly, Dalon brought his hand down and wrapped his robes tightly around himself with hands white-knuckled with effort. Slowly, Dalon loosened his grip and closed his eyes, letting his river drown out the sound of his fears. No, it certainly would have to be sooner rather than later..
Through the rut-dirt roads a shadow in the night ran. Dark clothing shrouded all but it's eyes tightly, only allowing those perceptive in the night to find it quite short and female from anywhere but nearby. Wispy motes of dust rose behind the shadow's path, the road dry enough from poor rains that even her light footwear knocked up the trail. Her breath was shallow and haggard, with the clothing over her mouth blocking some forms of inhalation, but her pace did not slow. The road smoothed somewhat from paths beaten by more then hooves and wagons, and buildings began to pop up as the shadow entered town. All was quiet, with the exception of the constant buzzing of the drying river. Few people roamed the streets that she saw, and none she knew saw her. The town was not large, but it was long. Many of the expensive homes and businesses ran along the riverside, stretching it's length a surprising amount. In the dark, with cloth falling occasionally over her eyes, it was difficult to find the right place. Repeatedly she had to brush back the long black cloth wrapped over her face for a better view, and pull it down past her mouth for a large gulp of air. Focusing on finding the right landmarks in the darkness, she did not notice the weak-kneed, toddling figure just off her left shoulder. Colliding with the man, she spun and teetered, but just barely managed to stay upright. Pausing for a moment, the shadow of a woman swung her head this way and that, searching for the right direction again. Her body was stiff, with shock or embarrassment one could not be sure in this darkness, no less with the way she dressed. After a brief moment of reorienting herself, she darted off again through the night without a word.

Eric turned his head slightly as he spun around falling to the ground. "Well how rude she didn't even stop to apologize."Eric laughed slightly before vanishing.
A few days later... An empty dirt road went on for miles as far as the eye could see, in the distance a dark figure could be seen, a man wearing a grey cloak, the bottom half flapping in the wind as the man continued his walk. "Such a hot day." Eric said, looking up from the road only to see the light from the evening sun shining brightly down upon him. He took a deep breath and exhaled with a sigh, he began to walk faster before going into a jog, then a sprint, soon his speed would increase to where his image would become a blur, a trail of dust from the dry road rising behind him as he went along, his path led him straight into the land of War. "What a terrible looking area." He thought as he continued at a fast pace, slowing down upon the entrance to a forest. "It looks like a tornado has been through here, I hope this isn't all I have to look forward to...the area looks deserted.
