It has been discussed a bit about possibly getting WAR it's own site. Everything is still up in the air and uncertain, but I have decided to go ahead and start a small test forum with invisionfree just to show people what can be done and to help everyone figure out how they want WAR to look. Hopefully if the test forum goes smoothly, WAR might actually have it's own website in the future. If you want to see how the WAR test site is coming along visit the link below. You are free to join and post wherever, just keep in mind that this site can change quickly day by day until we all settle on a similar thing. z13.invisionfree.com/WAResistance/index.phpYou can reply to this thread with suggestions, etc. Color recommendations as well as images are welcomed and needed.

changed some pictures and now in the process of modifying all the colors. I want to tone the forum down a bit so it's not so contrast-y with a mix of lights and darks to balance it all out. Text is still being changed (yeah I know the board fonts can't be seen cus they're the same color as the picture, working on it)

I can't say I would be so good at decribing suggestions, so instead i went to another forum I like the look of. swordartonline.proboards.com/Obviously things would be different between the two, but I enjoy the setup and...bonuses this forum layout seems to offer. The one major downside I see in it is the lack of background variety or color. A picture that extended further down, and/or maybe blended together the further down you scrolled until it made a basic color would be nice. I am not sure how much this helps, seeing as I am unsure how difficult it would be to code this, but meh..

I've seen a code where you can insert a background, and then an image that scrolls with the page over the background. I'll try to find it again and try to squeeze that in there since I found it neat

I think the little War sign in the left hand corner is a nice touch,it still is a little to much White and Blue, maybe replace some of the blue with like a dark red if possible? Other then a few tweaks here and there it's coming along great.

yeah im tryin to find a good color for the forum box, haven't found one yet that doesn't look... odd. P: I'm still playing though so we'll see. If I make a transparent corner logo I can change the BG to any color (the logo is currently sitting in a black box) color suggestions are welcomed XD I'm trying to stick to the red and black theme... but I feel that would be too bland so I'm trying to add more color

added a scrolling chatbox as I know its not just me who hates having to go all the way down to the bottom of the board to post and then if someone replies in the cbox you have to scroll aaaaaaall the way back up. Now it will follow you ;3 EDIT: Also added a scrolling image. so now we can have a background image of anything, and then an image that scrolls over it!!! Keep in mind these are all just filler images. I don't know what you guys all want, you want people... swords... gore... idk. ya gotta tell me

I would think isolated, lush greens and tans, greys and blues. Maybe a mix of more verdant colors for the highlights, like the colors expressed in the pictures around each description tag. I'm not one for constant dark. Playing on the colors of a shaded wetlands forest, with clay and rock falls carved by wind and rain is much more serene and enjoyable. Course, the majority of what I describe, while not exactly clashing with what you have presented thus far, pulls away from it in an apparent manner. It's worth saying that I'd be fine with either general color set shown thus far, and what I describe is simply my idea of nice. www.colourlovers.com/palette/2711492/OscurosNot exactly what I am thinking, but kinda like this. Kiiiinda-sorta.

hmm i like the browns and the grey-blue. The green works to, but the bold blue is to... well bold XD if I toned it down or changed the color a bit it should work. I'm trying a tanish them right now I'll see how that looks, take a screenshot when I'm done and then i'll work on your request

I'm liking it.
One thing I never asked before; what will this offer us that proboards does not already? From what I've seen both are pretty open to changes in style.

the difference between proboards and invisionfree is mainly just their coding, but according to many people, because of the way IF is coded it opens a lot more options for people if you look at the admin CP on IF and then the admin CP on proboards... you'll easily see that P: but yeah, the difference is mainly just what you can do with PB and IF
I think Saperlie is very similar in coding to IF, but we'll see how it goes. Having your own site has its benifits. for instance... you don't have to worry much over the whole PG-13 shit on PB and IF, but since WAR has a lot of kids from neo on it heh I'm sure we'll have to stick to that, but... perhaps we can have a section for us older folks to RP in too so we dont have to be poluting the minds of the young

Well i got an email reply folks. She's agreed to open up the website and host us HOWEVER, we won't have access to it until sometime after March. In the meantime, we can continue to work on the IF forum, spiffy it up, and maybe in time even move over there to get members used to the new way things are going to work on our new site so that we won't just be going BAM into new places. The coding for saperlie will be MyBB, MyBB is written in PHP which is a different form of coding than IF or Proboards to my understanding, so it'll take me awhile to understand all of it. If you're curious about what MyBB is.... go here: www.mybb.com/hopefully it won't be too difficult P: guess we'll see

Will there be costs for having our own website?
